Cotton trees and human stories

-

Sarita Dangol a young and enthusiastic painter brought together her latest paintings and ink sketches in NAFA art gallary. The display was introduced by a title creation and creations . She expresses her sentiments through various types of trees with vivid colors in the backdrop, creating a dramatic appeal . In the concrete jungle of ultra morden age , she is an artist who attempts to go back to the far ages of pre human civilisation penetrating the veils of culture reaching the pure abyss of human's primeval shelter- the jungle . The way she relates herself to this ancient existence seems to be coming out of her subconscious mind . But as it gets a visual form the subconscious state transcends into a conscious effect on her canvas.

Her method of applying color inherits concept from the post impressionist phase i.e applying big dabs of colour differentiating forms through thick lines . Her creative transformation is apparent throught her mental flourishment and technical artistry as-well. From realistic to thick patches of colour like that of the impressonists to the ever provoking sentimentality of the expressionist where there remains no distinct difference between the dipicted object and the conceived subject , this transformation displayes the educated mind of the artist. She uses this knowledge to shed light on the contemporary configuration of life where humans are haunted by numorous longings. Like trees they highten & grow old, nurtured by their oun requisitions. But they never grow tall enough to reach the desired sky. That height is accomplished only by those who awaken patient & find the eternal sky of freedom within them. sixth solo exhibition of the artist, she has participated in various group shows and travelled abroad to display her creativity. The exhibition began from 13 nov and concluded on the 28 of nov 2003.
