Through the binocular of time, humans have seen the world and its metaphorical changes from upfront and far off as well. If there's one thing that has made us recognize these ever changing images and seem even deeper than as they are is depicted throught the medium of art . It is a language that needs no words which has expressed the history and has attemped to perceive the future of human existence. Even though the modernism in art in Nepal has a short span of history its arrival has brought the artists an individuality which can not be measured through time . This acheivement was evident in the Sirjana contemporary art gallery which hosted a sale exhibition of paintings that offered more than 300 art works by various Nepalese Painters. The price ranged from Rs. 2000 to Rs.5000.

The idea of this exhibition is to make accessible art in the Nepalese community and materialise a local art market. According to the gallery members this might be a step in securing a stable future for art in Nepal . The art show was on from 2nd Nov 2003 to 23rd Nov and is the latest episode in the series of sale exhibitions presented by the gallery.

And as the remains of the day peep from the canvas, the paintings come alive on the faces of the viewers and they recognise each other. Beacuse now they have understood the essence.
