Devendra
reflected his
love for nature
through water
colour paintings
in the Nepal art
council gallery.
An energetic
young man, he
sees his
painting as
journal of ups &
downs in life.
He travels far
distant places &
collects
sceneries on
paper. This
exhibition he
says, is largly
dedicated to the
serene land of
Tarai. The
paintings can
also be looked
upon as a
reaction to
violent
situation that
is building up
in Nepal. The
artist
recollects
moments when he
had to go
through grueling
trouble during
his travel. 'And
there is only
one way out of
this confusing

Keeping in mind
even the tinist
requirment of
life, violence
it seems would
never vanish
from the world.
Because deep
down in the
basement of our
existence what
we are is
merely, an
animal, & Drawin
puts it quite
proficiently-
survival of the
fittest."
Though what
distinguishes us
from rest of the
other animals is
that we have a
thinking device
called the mind
which has
capability to
keep a balance
between peace &
violence as a
result
establishing
harmony. But not
much of that is
happening in the
world today.
